Chingay 2011 - Final Curtains

The last day of term one today. Had a good CD meeting last night. A short conversation with S. reminds me that my blog is overdue for updating.

First off, I would like to report the successful completion of Chingay. It is the 30th participation in Chingay for Singapore Soka Association. What exactly is the true significance of participating in Chingay for regular citizens like us?

Chingay is a parade of props for us. Every year, we would attempt to create the most interesting props for the participants to dance with. That said, the dance is not the main concern of the choreographers. It is to bring the props to life.

But the props are only as good as the person controlling it. We often tell the participants that the most important thing is to thoroughly enjoy the atmosphere. And smiling has to come from the heart in order to truly bring joy to the performance. So in conclusion, Chingay is really an opportunity to demonstrate the joy we really do achieve in our daily lives. This is the key. It is about changing lives.
